Design Tutorial – HTML 5 Usage

15

www.tom-rogers.com – HTML is the language of the web. The “current approved version” of the spec is 4.01. The fifth iteration of the spec is just around the corner (2022). I wanted to talk about what new features are in it, what the goals of those features will be and what elements can be used today.

    HTML5 would be a million times better than flash. Although I’d think that one would still have to use the Adobe software animation before converting it to another format.

    @necrolinux He is a very smart kid and I hate immature people who treat people differently.

    @montage12333 Well, lets see. $mysql_query is defining a variable in PHP called mysql_query, which won’t work since it’s already a defined function call. So, $query = mysql_query(“….”); would be how you’d do it. For example:

    $query = mysql_query(“INSERT INTO `dumb_shits` (name) VALUES (‘montage12333′)”);

    Any questions, or does the query statement say it all, o’ one of the dense nature?

  9. ikemkrueger says:

    If I write it in one page, is it automagically added to the other webpages?

  10. necrolinux says:

    Oh common montage12333. Grow up. And no you’re not the only one who knows how to use a database around here. I’m really not going to bother with you. You’re not worth my time.

  11. montage12333 says:

    lol if im so dense tell me what this menas $mysql_query

  12. necrolinux says:

    Actually he’s not and in fact I think he’s a rather smart kid. You sound rather dense and immature montage12333. Grow up.

  13. montage12333 says:

    lol your retarded

    html5 could definitely have some very useful features. My worry is how the browsers will choose to implement them (or not). Webdev is so much more complicated than it needs to be thanks to browser compatibility – hopefully this won’t just make it worse… of course, I guess we have till 2022 to find out. ;) Nice vid, thanks. :)
